Isaac / Ishaq / Yitzhak
The miracle child born to the elderly Abraham and Sarah, whose near-sacrifice on Mount Moriah is one of the most theologically significant events in the Abrahamic faiths. Christians see in his binding a foreshadowing of Christ's sacrifice. Islam identifies him as a prophet and celebrates his birth as a divine promise fulfilled. In Judaism he is the second Patriarch through whom God's covenant with Abraham continued.
